Upon arrival at Izmir port your private guide will be waiting for you with a personalized sign. You'll then embark on a 1 hour drive to Ephesus, one of Turkey's main attractions. This ancient city was one of the 12 cities of Ionian League. At the western coast of Asia Minor, it served as a major departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor.
Your guide will take you on a historical walk along marble streets lined with fantastic buildings including the Fountain of Trajan, the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian, Agora; Love House; Public Toilets and the Grand Theater where Saint Paul preached. The latter was built in the 3rd century BC and expanded by the Romans in the 1st century AD to hold up to 24,000 spectators. After Ephesus visit, we will stop in the Temple of Artemis. It was one of the largest temples of the 6th century BC and was considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
