Duration : 5.5 hours

Tour Type. : Private tour
Upon arriving at Izmir port, you will be greeted by your private guide, who will be holding a personalized sign with your name on it. You will then embark on a 20-minute drive to Ephesus, one of Turkey's top attractions. This ancient city was a significant departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor and was one of the 12 cities of the Ionian League, an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor.
During your historical walk in Ephesus, your guide will lead you along marble streets flanked by stunning structures such as the Fountain of Trajan, the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian, Agora, Love House, Public Toilets, and the Grand Theater, where Saint Paul once preached. The Grand Theater was constructed in the 3rd century BC and later expanded by the Romans in the 1st century AD, with a capacity of up to 24,000 spectators.
After exploring Ephesus, we will stop at the Temple of Artemis, one of the largest temples of the 6th century BC and considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Next, we will visit the Saint John Basilica, where tradition holds that the apostle St. John spent his final years and was buried on the southern slope of Ayosolug Hill.
We will then visit the House of Virgin Mary, which is situated on the Aladag Mountains, about 5 miles from Ephesus. According to legend, Mary lived there with St. John from 37 AD until 48 AD. The site is now a pilgrimage destination and was visited by Pope Paul VI in 1967.
Our final stop will be Sirince village, a picturesque and historical village located 8 km from Ephesus. Perched on top of a mountain, Sirince boasts a unique blend of Turkish and Greek cultures, with Turkish-style interiors and Greek exteriors. During our visit, we will explore both the Mosque and the Orthodox Church, and you will have ample free time to explore the village's narrow streets lined with charming shops selling handmade crafts and locally produced olive oil. Sirince is renowned for its grape and fruit wines, which you can sample at one of the many small cafes or in the restored former municipal school that now serves as a wine-tasting venue.
After these exciting visits, we will return to Izmir port, where our services will come to an end.
