Upon arrival at Izmir port, your private guide will be waiting for you with a personalized sign. You'll then embark on a 1 hour drive to Ephesus, one of Turkey's main attractions. This ancient city was one of the 12 cities of the Ionian League, an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor, and served as a major departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor.
Your guide will take you on a historical walk along marble streets lined with fantastic buildings, including the Fountain of Trajan, the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian, Agora, Love House, Public Toilets, and the Grand Theater, where Saint Paul preached. The latter was built in the 3rd century BC and expanded by the Romans in the 1st century AD to hold up to 24,000 spectators.
After visiting Ephesus, we will stop at the Temple of Artemis. It was one of the largest temples of the 6th century BC and is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Next, we will visit Sirince village, a picturesque and historic village located 8 km from Ephesus. Sirince village is perched on top of a mountain and boasts an exceptional fusion of Turkish and Greek cultures. Its houses exhibit a blend of Turkish and Greek architectural styles, with Greek exteriors and Turkish interiors. During our visit, we will explore both the Mosque and the Orthodox Church, and you will have ample free time to soak up the village's charm. The narrow streets of Sirince are lined with quaint shops that sell handmade crafts and locally produced olive oil, making it a favorite spot among tourists. However, the highlight of the village is its grape and fruit wines, which are famous across Turkey. You can savor these wines at one of the many small cafes or at the restored former municipal school that now serves as a wine-tasting venue.
After all these visits, we will drive back to Izmir port. This marks the end of our services.
